FORT EDWARD, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Ford Edward man will serve ten years in state prison for criminal sexual act in the first degree. Robert Keech was also sentenced to three years for sexual abuse in the first degree, which will run concurrently. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Keech attempted to have sexual contact with a child under 13 and restrained the child in the course of conduct. In November, two downtown Glens Falls staples host events supporting the Chapman Museum based around wine, chocolate, and fine dining. ST. LOUIS - The holidays are right around the corner, and there's a good chance you might be expecting some packages with gifts at your front door. New research reveals you might want to be extra careful with your deliveries in St. Louis. Home security company Vivint recently released a report on porch pirates, naming "high-risk areas" and offering prevention strategies. Vivint analyzed the prevalence of porch pirates through a rating system coined the porch pirate index (PPI). BETHALTO, Ill. -- The Madison County Sheriff’s Office confirms to FOX 2 that a missing man was found dead Tuesday. Jeremy Spears body was discovered near I-255 and Culp Lane. He had been missing since October 20th.The Madison County Sheriff's Office and the Madison County Coroner's Office are conducting a death investigation. Riverbender.com reports that the body was found at around 11 a.m. close to the highway near the woods.A search party was organized to help find the body. Africana Restaurant & Cafe has closed after 43 years, as a result of unpaid taxes and is now in the possession of the state of Colorado, according to a notice hanging on its door this week.A notice of public sale by the order of the Executive Director Colorado Department of Revenue states that the restaurant owes $24,734 worth of unpaid taxes. When properties are seized, they are typically auctioned off to recover the amount due. A suspect has been arrested in connection with a gruesome hit-and-run that killed a man who was riding a bicycle in South Los Angeles on Tuesday.Felipe Avalos, 66, was taken into custody in Compton and booked on a charge of gross vehicular manslaughter, according to LAPD.The collision happened at about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning in the area of Broadway and 117th Street.Investigators say the driver of an older model Chevy van ran over the bicyclist and dragged him for approximately one mile before the victim became dislodged at the intersection of Broadway and El Segundo Boulevard. Although the growing trend of women joining the labor force was stifled during the COVID-19 pandemic, a new study shows that the number of self-employed women has grown significantly. According to a study by business research firm ChamberofCommerce.org, more than 6 million women across the U.S. are self-employed, and several of the nation's 170 most populous cities – including three in Southern California – are now emerging as hotspots for independent female workers. The top four locations for self-employed women are all in South Florida, the study showed. Coming in at number one is Miami, followed by Fort Lauderdale and the cities of Pembroke Pines and Hialeah.Over 15% of female workers in those cities are self-employed, data shows.
