ROUND ROCK (KXAN) — As the weather warms up, spring has arrived and that brings about baseball season.In Round Rock, excitement is in the air for opening weekend at Dell Diamond for the Round Rock Express.Expectations are sky high for this squad — the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers —that’s stacked with tons of talented players who hope to get called up to the major leagues this year.With this in mind, we came up with a list of what to look forward to during the 2023 season.Opening WeekendThe Express start their season tonight at 7:05 p.m. against the Albuquerque Isotopes — Colorado Rockies affiliate —at Dell Diamond.This evening marks the first time since 2016 that the squad starts its season at home on a Friday. PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- On Thursday, Stephen Medina, Hinsdale, pleaded guilty to motor vehicular homicide by negligent operation. Medina was involved in a head-on collision on Route 8 in Sandisfield on December 12, 2021, that claimed the life of Matthew Grozik of Cheshire, Connecticut. WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) -- Two Watertown students have been named finalists in a national challenge saluting our veterans. This is called the Army Educational Outreach Program's "We Heart Veterans" Pin Design Challenge, which tested students from across the United States on their 3D design skills. Case Middle School's Technology Department accepted the challenge and allowed students to use "Fuse," a software company out of Northwestern University that provides STEAM Labs to classrooms. ST. LOUIS - The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the St. Louis Metropolitan area to a Level-4 risk for severe weather Friday. Mother Nature means business on Friday. Winds will become quite gusty from the south as temperatures climb towards 70. The main risk for storms is Friday afternoon and evening, from noon to 9:00 p.m. Expect a couple of waves of thunderstorms. They will be scattered, meaning not everyone sees them. EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - A jury convicted a St. Louis man Wednesday who attempted to engage in sexual activity with a minor, though was busted by an undercover agent who posed as a teenage girl online. Vallie Zeller, 46, was found guilty of three felonies, including attempted enticement of a minor, travel with intent to engage in sexual conduct with a minor and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Zeller used an online platform and talked online to an undercover agent who posed as a 15-year-old girl.
