City appoints new Downtown Austin Community Court Administrator

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin said it appointed Robert Kingham as the next Downtown Austin Community Court Administrator.According to a release from the city, Kingham served as the Court Operations Manager for DACC since 2017.“Robert Kingham is an excellent choice as the next Court Administrator for the Downtown Austin Community Court,” Bruce Mills, Interim Assistant City Manager for Public Safety, said. “He has the experience and knowledge needed to ensure the DACC continues to integrate new processes and policies that will help meet the needs of our court clientele and the community.”The city said during his time with DACC, Kingham led the transition of two important community programs to come under DACC’s purview.Austin Homelessness Advisory Council: Ensures voices of people with lived experience participate in planning processes for policies and programs impacting people experiencing homelessness to help achieve long-term stability.Violet KeepSafe Storage program: Ser...Video shows Britney Spears inadvertently hit herself in the face

LAS VEGAS (AP) — No charges will be filed following a brief investigation of the altercation involving pop star Britney Spears, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama and a member of the player’s security team, Las Vegas police said Friday.Spears said she was struck by a security guard as she tried to approach Wembanyama near a restaurant in a Las Vegas casino complex on Wednesday night. Wembanyama said a person — he later was told it was Spears — grabbed him from behind.Spears filed a police report, alleging battery. TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man has been sentenced on a sexual assault conviction, according to the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office. Jevonte Osterhout, 31, was found guilty by a jury trial on May 12 of having a sexual relationship with a child in East Greenbush. At his trial in May, Osterhout was convicted of third-degree sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Investigators are offering up to a $4,000 reward for information regarding the death of a 13-year-old in March’s Aurora mall shooting.Just before 8 p.m. on March 25, Aurora police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot at the Town Center at Aurora mall.When officers arrived, they found 13-year-old Phoenix Day suffering from two gunshot wounds, detective Nick Lesnansky said in Friday’s press conference. First responders took Day to the hospital, where he died less than half an hour later.“I will never understand why this happened to my son,” Phoenix Day’s mother, Tabatha Denny, said in the press conference. “But I do know that we deserve justice. A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Long Beach that left a 12-year-old boy dead and another child injured in May.Rashawn Strother, 20, of Cypress, who was in custody on an unrelated charge, is expected to be booked on suspicion of murder in the death of Eric Gregory Brown III.His girlfriend Destinee Sheree Scipio, 21 of Long Beach, was also arrested and booked on suspicion of murder, but Long Beach Police Department Chief Wally Hebeish did not offer many details on her role in the crime.The shooting occurred on May 9 when Brown was walking on a sidewalk with two friends in the 2200 block of Lewis Avenue.A vehicle with several suspects inside pulled up to the victims when someone started shooting at them.A 14-year-old girl suffered a non-life-threatening injury, but Brown later died from his injuries, police said.
