HONOLULU (KHON) - A family was heading for Chinamanʻs Hat island off of Oahu, Hawaii, when they saw what they thought was a log in the water.That's what June Mellor's family thought until it moved. Then they thought it was a dog. But when they got closer, they realized it was a boar. They shot video of it as they circled. "And then we saw it moving and we thought, 'Goodness, that can't be a dog, is it?' And we get closer because obviously it's a living thing and we realize it's not a dog. It's a little piggy," explained Mellor. "We were just baffled looking around thinking, 'Where did you come from? AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) — Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. has secured a 15-year lease for a property north of Austin as it continues on a quest to double its footprint in Central Texas amid a nationwide expansion.The Phoenix-based grocery store chain plans to open its first store in Georgetown at the northwest corner of Williams Drive and Cedar Lake Boulevard, Dan Croce, Sprouts' senior vice president of real estate, said in an email. Sprouts, which is known for its fresh and organic food selection, will build a 23,000-square-foot store there, which could open in the fourth quarter of 2024, he said.The Georgetown store is not the only Sprouts to recently open in Central Texas. The grocery store company opened a location in the Mueller neighborhood on Friday, according to the company. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department has identified the victim of a deadly crash in September in southeast Austin. On Sept. 30, first responders were called to a single-vehicle crash on Bastrop Highway around 5:30 a.m. MAP: Where have Austin’s fatal crashes occurred in 2023? ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man was arrested after he posted a video of him striking his dog with a leash, according to New York State Police. Jahmir Williams, 24, is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! On Tuesday, state police said investigators received information regarding a dog that was physically abused in Albany in September. Police say the investigation led to the discovery of a video online that showed Williams striking a dog he owned repeatedly with a leash.Williams was arrested and taken to Latham State Police for processing. ST. LOUIS - Two people are dead in what police are calling a double homicide In the Benton Park West neighborhood of south St. Louis.There is limited information from the police at this point, but authorities have told FOX 2 that they think both of the victims were adult males, and we also know a suspect is in custody. The shooting took place on the 3000 block of Wyoming in south city. Police are still on the scene while the investigation is ongoing.St. Louis Police told FOX 2 that they got the call just after 6:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the two victims shot. CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. - An intense overnight fire gutted a Metro East convenience store very close to Cahokia Heights.Multiple fire crews are still on the scene on the 2900 block of Camp Jackson Road. A man was approached by a pair of suspects in a vehicle and shot while standing outside his car in Hollywood late Tuesday night. The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Fountain Avenue and North La Brea Avenue. Investigators determined that the victim, described as a Black man between 30 and 35 years old, was approached by two male suspects in a vehicle who demanded his property. It was unclear if the victim gave the suspects any cash or belongings. As the suspects were leaving the scene, one of them fired at the victim, striking him at least once.Video showed two bullet holes on a driver-side window of a vehicle with blood dripping down the side.
